Privacy Policy
MySoundLib is built on a strict local-first philosophy. Your audio files, library structures, waveform data, and creative projects never leave your computer. Last updated: March 2026.
1. Local-First Philosophy
We believe audio tools should respect your hardware and your creative assets. MySoundLib operates entirely offline as a local binary on your machine.
- No Account Needed: You do not need to register, log in, or authenticate with an external server to use MySoundLib.
- No Cloud Dependencies: Searching, filtering, audio previewing, waveform generation, and NLE timeline drag-and-drop happen 100% offline.
- No Advertising or Trackers: The application contains zero ad SDKs, analytics tracking networks, or third-party behavioral profiling code.
2. Zero Automatic Telemetry
The application does not collect background telemetry. Specifically:
- Your audio waveforms, PCM audio buffers, and file contents are never transmitted across the network.
- Your folder paths, disk directory structures, sound effect tags, and search keywords stay strictly on your local computer.
- There is no silent background pinging or automatic crash telemetry transmitting your usage data to external endpoints.
3. Local Storage on Your Device
MySoundLib stores index records and cache data solely within your operating system's standard user-data directories:
- Windows:
Documents/MySoundLib(databases, configs, logs) and%LOCALAPPDATA%/Programs/MySoundLib(application binary) - macOS:
~/Documents/MySoundLib(databases and configs) - Linux:
~/Documents/MySoundLib(databases and configs)
This includes the local SQLite 3 databases (*.db), configuration files, and temporary sliced audio clips generated when trimming sounds (which reside in your system temporary directory, e.g. %TEMP%). You can inspect, back up, move, or erase these directories at any time without impacting your master sound library.
4. User-Initiated Bug Reports & Debug Logs
If you encounter an issue and choose to report a bug directly through the application or via email, you may voluntarily send relevant debug logs to assist troubleshooting.
These debug logs may contain technical error stack traces, operating system versions, and filenames or library paths directly associated with the crash. We use this information exclusively to investigate and fix bugs, and we never share or sell this data.
5. Payment & Website Transactions
Purchases of MySoundLib are handled securely by Gumroad as our authorized merchant of record payment processor.
We never receive, view, or store your credit card or financial account numbers. Gumroad collects billing details necessary for tax compliance, fraud mitigation, and invoicing in accordance with its privacy policy.
6. External Links & Editor Integrations
MySoundLib interfaces with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut Desktop, Final Cut Pro, Reaper, etc.) via standard operating system file drag-and-drop protocols. There is no background data exchange or telemetry link between MySoundLib and those external software providers.
7. Questions & Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, feel free to contact us directly at support@mysoundlib.com.
